What Do You Believe?

A couple sample lists of what we might see if we were to read what people believe:
1. Life is good
God loves me
I have a purpose
Giving is receiving
I create my own destiny
2 .Nothing in life comes easy
I have bad luck
God could never forgive me
Expect the worst, you’ll be pleasantly surprised if it doesn’t happen
Which of these two lists do you gravitate towards? Do you wish you could feel and believe list 1.? Our beliefs direct and guide our thoughts and actions. We take action on what we believe. Not only will our beliefs control our actions they will be the basis for our daily moods and attitudes.
List 1. will generate feelings of love, hope, compassion and gratitude. List 2. is fear based, leaving us feeling sad, jealous, angry, hopeless. The thoughts and feelings of our days, hours and minutes will be the combined life we live. Make a point to stay on list 1.
You may have had circumstances occur in your life that support your fear based beliefs, the good news is you can change your beliefs. Start one thought at a time. For every negative thought that passes through your mind replace it with a positive. For every sad feeling you feel look at it as a lesson as to what you truly desire, let it go and focus on your wants. Use affirmations; find one word or a quote that resonates with you and speak it to yourself, put it on your mirror, desk, car and refrigerator. As they say repetition is the mother of learning, repeat what it is you want to be and feel over and over until you become that thing.
The good news/bad news is whatever you believe for an extended period of time settles into your being and becomes a knowing. Knowing is a belief that you can stand on and know that nothing and no one in the world can change it, except yourself. Take care of your mind and thoughts as well as you would your newest prize possession, for the thoughts and feelings you allow yourself to be guided by will control your life.
Joyfully Yours~
